The Thistleblower

Welcome to this week's edition of The Thistleblower

At a time when the rental property market is a hot topic and more people are considering letting property, now more than ever, it is essential to seek professional advice, particularly due to the recent changes in legislation.

This week the BBC lead with the story that there aren’t enough rental properties to fill demand, whilst this is clearly a concern we’re also seeing the rise of the secret landlord.

There are obviously landlords who purchase property for the sole purpose of letting as an investment, but more and more owners are finding themselves in a position where they have a property that they need to let out. In any circumstantial situation, an informal chat with some professional and experienced advice could be just the ticket, it’s important that potential landlords are aware of property demand, rental value but most importantly the legal obligations involved.

It can be a daunting prospect to consider letting out a property, and challenging to even know where to start. Our lettings team are on hand to help in any way we can.
