The Thistleblower

Welcome to our newsletter,

July has been a great month for selling or letting property and I expect this to continue into August. True, there won’t be as many buyers around due to holidays but those that are will be serious and based on July’s activity keen to find a home either as a buyer or a tenant.

I don’t think there is the hype in the market we had in early 2014 but more of a steady realisation that the economy seems to be going in the right direction and that all round things are just picking up in a sensible way.

Developers are always a good barometer of how the market is viewed and my Land Department has never been busier. We are asked on a daily basis to provide advice and guidance on new schemes coming through and based on what we know there will be a healthy and much-needed supply of new homes being built throughout our area.

This is great news and show the confidence the house building sector has in this part of North East Hampshire. The various schemes coming to the market are all individual and the build quality is immeasurably better than say a decade ago.

These new homes will help unlock the supply of second-hand property, assisting the owners of those homes in moving and providing a vital supply to buyers. The overall investment in this part of the world cannot be underestimated in the benefits brought to our local economy.
