The Thistleblower

Welcome to the Thistleblower,

The local press as well as property related web sites, have all featured a number of articles commenting on the various stresses affecting the supply of property entering the market.

Whether it’s local communities concerned about a raft of proposed new developments, calls for stamp duty changes or EU legislation affecting the ability of local authorities to grant much needed planning consents, there is one common theme running through all these stories – the need for change.

A very good example of this are the genuine concerns raised by local communities about impending development. Whilst all – in most cases – agree the desperate requirement for much needed housing this is invariably followed by ‘not in our area’. The problem is that the development has to be in someone's 'back yard'. This will require compromise.

As local agents we confirm demand for housing in this area remains very strong and will, in our opinion, continue to do so due to the acute shortage of available property coupled with the popularity of this desirable area.
