The Thistleblower

Welcome to this week's edition of The Thistleblower.

Although August is normally the ‘big’ month for holidays, it doesn’t always follow that the property market is less productive for agents. There are indeed fewer people around but those that remain tend to be serious, whether they are selling, letting, buying, or renting. This month has been no different, with all of our teams working at full throttle. This has been the case since our return and my colleagues are predicting a very busy autumn period.

This activity is a result of the pent-up demand fuelled by buyers seeking to take advantage of the stamp duty holiday. It looks like low-interest rates are here to stay and with prices relatively stable it is a great time to buy.

The biggest challenge for agents is managing pipelines that are taking time to exchange contracts due to the high level of work that solicitors are currently faced with, coupled with some who have yet to return all their staff from furlough.

If you are considering a move – be it selling or letting your home – then, as always, we welcome the opportunity of advising and assisting you.
