The Thistleblower

Welcome to this week's edition of The Thistleblower.

Big stamp duty changes announced over the last week have helped to increase demand and activity in the already resurgent housing market. Within hours of the announcement, Rightmove experienced their busiest day for website traffic - ever.

Buyers are using the savings to bridge the difference between what they wanted to pay and what vendors would accept. Common sense is being applied by both sides to get deals done.

Our client managers all report significantly increased productivity in that we are now only doing business with people who are definite about whether they want to buy, or sell. Supply for property for sale or to let has not changed to any great degree but demand is much stronger this side of the lockdown period, with our buyer and tenant registrations increasing by 38% over the same period last year. This, coupled with the forecasted return of 90% loan to value mortgages will only continue to drive the market.

Our message is clear, if you want to sell or let your home then now is a great time to act both in terms of speed and securing a good price.
