The Thistleblower - January 2013

A Belated Happy New Year!

The demand from buyers to view property has started quickly with viewings being booked on the first day back into the New Year. Despite the snow many buyers pressed on with their property visits subsequently submitting offers and agreeing terms.

We have also seen a corresponding increase in requests for valuations from home owners so it appears that decisions are being made by sellers and buyers alike; this is good news as a solid start to the year often sets the tone for the market going into the spring.

It’s a bit early to make predictions but we expect the market will be consistent backed up by slightly better news generally. We have also seen improved news for funding and access to mortgage finance has eased with help from Government and the house building industry.

My message to sellers is that we have serious purchasers who want to move to your area and if you are thinking of making a move contact any office for advice and information. Remember this area has been voted - for the second year in a row – as the ‘best place to live in the UK’ by the 2012 Quality of Life survey.

Best Wishes
